- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- Whipped cream, to taste
- Fruit preserves (your choice), to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round baking pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Mix in the milk and melted butter until combined.
- Gradually combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients until just blended.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow the cakes to cool before layering one with fruit preserves and whipped cream, then add the second layer on top.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding vanilla extract to the wet mixture. Experiment with different flavors of fruit preserves.
