Description

A refreshing infusion of ginger and lemon that offers health benefits while tantalizing the taste buds.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of fresh ginger
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1/4 cup of sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Ice cubes (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring the water to a simmer and add the sliced fresh ginger.
  2. Simmer for about 5 minutes to allow the ginger to release its flavors.
  3. Remove from heat and let steep for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Strain the ginger infusion into a pitcher, discarding the ginger.
  5. Add sugar or honey and lemon juice to taste, stirring until dissolved.
  6. Allow to cool completely before serving.
  7. Serve over ice or warm, garnished with fresh mint or lemon slices.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can freeze the infusion in ice cube trays for future use.
