- 2 slices thick-cut sourdough or whole grain bread
- 1 medium apple, sliced
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- Butter for grilling
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little butter.
- Place one slice of bread in the skillet and layer with cheese and apple slices.
- Sprinkle chili flakes over the apple slices.
- Top with the second slice of bread and grill until the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip the sandwich and grill the other side until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
- Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add more chili flakes or sliced jalapeños. Serve with a side salad or tomato soup for a complete meal.
