Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the chocolate cake batter according to the package instructions.
  3. In a separate bowl, blend the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Layer the sliced strawberries on the bottom of the greased pan.
  5. Pour half of the cake batter over the strawberries.
  6. Drop dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the batter.
  7. Pour the remaining cake batter over the cream cheese filling.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
