  2. Arrange the fried tortilla chips on an oven-safe plate or baking tray. Evenly sprinkle grated cheddar cheese over the chips.
  3. Place the assembled nachos under a salamander broiler or in a hot oven until the cheese is thoroughly melted, about 2-5 minutes. Top with sliced jalapeños while the cheese is hot.
