Delightful stuffed cabbage rolls filled with savory meat and rice, baked in a rich tomato sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, or turkey)
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sour cream for serving
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the cabbage leaves in boiling water for 3-5 minutes until soft.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, cooked rice, onion, garlic, thyme, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling on each cabbage leaf, roll tightly, and tuck in the ends.
  5. Layer the rolls in a baking dish and cover with tomato sauce.
  6. Bake covered with foil for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  7. Let rolls rest for 10 minutes before serving. Top with sour cream and parsley.

Notes

For best results, use soft Savoy cabbage. Adjust seasonings to taste and ensure proper blanching of the leaves.
