Description

Indulge in these crispy and chewy red bean sesame balls filled with sweet red bean paste, perfect for dessert or as a tea time snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup red bean paste
  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Sugar (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the red bean filling by cooking and mashing the red beans with sugar until smooth.
  2. In a bowl, mix glutinous rice flour with water to form a dough.
  3. Take a small portion of the dough and shape it around a spoonful of red bean filling.
  4. Roll the filled balls in sesame seeds until fully coated.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan to around 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the sesame balls in batches until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

For best results, let the dough rest for 15 minutes before shaping. Fry in small batches to maintain oil temperature.
