Ingredients

- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, spices, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine molasses, sugar, and melted butter.
- Blend the wet and dry ingredients until just combined.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.
- Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
Notes
For softer cookies, remove them from the oven when edges are just set. You can also chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking to improve texture.
