- 1 cup apricot preserves
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or gluten-free alternative
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce or 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 finely chopped jalapeño (seeded for less heat)
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, soften the jalapeño, garlic, and ginger over medium heat.
- Add the apricot preserves, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, hot sauce/red pepper flakes, and salt.
- Heat and whisk until the preserves melt and the sauce becomes glossy, about 6-8 minutes.
- Simmer gently to thicken, cool slightly, and blend for a smooth dip if desired.
Notes
Store cooled sauce in an airtight glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. For longer storage, freeze in ice-cube trays.
