Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, five-spice powder, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Marinate the chicken in the mixture for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Place marinated chicken on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes, basting with marinade halfway through.
  5. Check chicken with a meat thermometer; it should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Serve over rice or in wraps with your favorite veggies.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
