Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup black cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon sour cream
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, black cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until fully combined.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- In a separate bowl, blend together the cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
- Scoop a tablespoon of cookie dough, flatten it, and place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center. Fold the dough around the filling and roll into a ball.
- Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart, and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a bakery-style look, gently roll the dough balls. Refrigerate the dough for about an hour to prevent spreading during baking.
