Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces feta cheese
- 8 sheets phyllo dough
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon dried herbs (like oregano or basil)
- Optional: fresh herbs, spinach, olives, or roasted red peppers
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Optional: sweet chili sauce for serving
Instructions
- Prepare Filling: In a bowl, crumble the feta cheese into small pieces. Mix in the dried herbs and garlic powder. Optional: add fresh herbs, spinach, olives, or roasted red peppers.
- Assemble Rolls: Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush lightly with olive oil. Place a spoonful of the feta mixture at one end and roll tightly into a log shape. Repeat with remaining phyllo sheets and feta mixture.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with olive oil and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Make Chili Honey Drizzle: While the rolls are baking, warm the honey in a small saucepan over low heat. Add chili flakes, mix well, then add lemon juice and keep warm.
- Serve: Drizzle the baked rolls with chili honey and serve immediately. Offer sweet chili sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
These rolls are best served hot. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven before serving.
