Description

A versatile recipe for making jello using beef gelatin, perfect for both sweet and savory applications with a firm, silky texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon (89 g) powdered beef gelatin
  • 2 cups (480 ml) liquid
  • Sugar or flavoring (optional)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup (60120 ml) cold liquid for blooming

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the powdered beef gelatin evenly over cold liquid and let sit for 5–10 minutes.
  2. Warm the remaining liquid with sugar or flavoring to a low simmer, then remove from heat.
  3. Whisk the bloomed gelatin into the hot liquid until fully melted.
  4. Strain into molds to remove bubbles, cool briefly, and refrigerate until firm.

Notes

For a firmer set, use 1 tablespoon per 2 cups of liquid. Always bloom the gelatin in a cold portion of the liquid and avoid boiling.
