- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/4 cup honey
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; lumps are okay.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- While baking, mix softened butter with honey in a small bowl until creamy.
- Once baked, let cool slightly before slicing and serving with honey butter.
Notes
Serve warm with honey butter on top. Pairs well with savory dishes or jam.
