Description

A delightful cornbread with sweet and buttery flavor, perfect for pairing with soups and stews.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/3 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and half of the honey until well blended.
  4. Gently combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Lumps are okay.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased dish and drizzle the remaining honey on top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown. Let it cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, spread butter or drizzle more honey on slices before serving.
