Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt).
- In another bowl, blend the wet ingredients (milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla).
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed; let the batter rest for 5 minutes.
- Preheat a griddle to 375°F (or medium-hot skillet to 325-350°F).
- Scoop 1/4-cup batter onto the griddle and cook until bubbles form, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- For the vanilla syrup, simmer sugar, water, vanilla bean, and salt for 6-8 minutes until slightly thickened; cool slightly before drizzling.
Notes
