- 2–4 tablespoons Water (To achieve desired consistency)
- Optional Flavorings (Garlic powder, lemon juice, or spices)
Instructions
- Toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until golden and fragrant, stirring often.
- Remove from heat and let the toasted seeds cool for a few minutes.
- Transfer cooled sesame seeds to a food processor and add olive oil, sea salt, and any optional flavorings.
- Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until the mixture looks crumbly, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
- Slowly add water while blending until the mixture is smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Taste the tahini and adjust salt or flavorings if needed. Blend briefly to mix.
- Transfer the tahini to a clean jar, seal tightly, and refrigerate.
Notes
Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. Stir before use as separation may occur.
