- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6–8 tablespoons ice water
- 6–8 tart apples (such as Granny Smith)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Core and slice apples, then toss with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface. Place one crust in a pie dish, fill with apple mixture, and dot with butter.

- Brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and apples are soft.
