Instructions
- Cook macaroni in salted boiling water until just al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, then whisk in flour to create a roux, cooking until golden.
- Gradually whisk in warm milk until the mixture thickens into a smooth sauce.
- Stir in grated cheeses until melted and creamy.
- Mix the cheese sauce with macaronis until evenly coated.
- Transfer to a baking dish, top with panko breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
For a crunchier topping, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter before sprinkling on top.
