  • Total Time: 65 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture along with melted butter and milk. Stir until combined.
  3. On a floured surface, knead dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide it into equal pieces, shape each into a ball, and place them close together in a greased baking dish.
  6. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake for approximately 20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For added flavor, brush the tops with melted butter after baking. Store leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days or freeze for up to three months.
