Ingredients

  • 450 g beef sirloin tip steak, thinly sliced
  • 60 ml low-sodium soy sauce
  • 30 ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 36 g brown sugar
  • 0.5 g garlic powder
  • 0.5 g onion powder
  • 0.5 g ground black pepper
  • 0.25 g red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef sirloin tip steak into strips, approximately 6 mm thick, cutting against the grain to enhance tenderness.
  2. Combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly until the sugar is nearly dissolved.
  3. Add the beef strips to the marinade and ensure an even coating. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for a minimum of 6 hours, ideally overnight, to maximize flavor absorption.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 82°C.
  5. Lay the marinated beef strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring pieces do not overlap to allow optimal air circulation.
  6. Air fry for 120 to 180 minutes, flipping strips halfway through. Jerky is done when dry but pliable.
  7. Cool the jerky completely on a wire rack, then transfer to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one month, refrigerate for three months, or freeze for six months.
