  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bread bowl
  • Cheese, as needed (cheddar or mozzarella recommended)
  • Butter
  • Tomato soup

Instructions

  1. Remove the top of the bread roll, scoop out the center, and save it for later.
  2. Butter the inside of the roll generously and place 3-4 slices of cheese around the inner edge.
  3. Bake the bread bowl in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes until the cheese melts.
  4. While the bread bowl bakes, cut the saved center in half and butter both sides for the grilled cheese sandwich.
  5. Melt some butter in a skillet over medium heat and fry the sandwich halves until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Once the bread bowl is ready, fill it with warm tomato soup and serve alongside the grilled cheese sandwich.

Notes

Choose sturdy bread to prevent leaks. Store leftovers separately in airtight containers.
