Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) chopped tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Feta cheese for topping (optional)
  • Fresh oregano for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ziti according to package instructions until al dente, about 2 minutes less than recommended.
  3. In a skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until soft.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Mix in the chopped tomatoes and oregano, and let simmer for a few minutes.
  6. In a baking dish, layer the cooked ziti, beef mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
