- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) chopped tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Feta cheese for topping (optional)
- Fresh oregano for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the ziti according to package instructions until al dente, about 2 minutes less than recommended.
- In a skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until soft.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Mix in the chopped tomatoes and oregano, and let simmer for a few minutes.
- In a baking dish, layer the cooked ziti, beef mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with crumbled feta and fresh oregano before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Freeze for longer storage.
