A classic comfort dish that combines ground beef, pasta, and creamy sauce, perfect for busy weeknights and family gatherings.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups egg noodles (or any pasta you prefer)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a cheese blend)
  • 1/2 cup beef broth (or water)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for sautéing)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions, drain, and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for about 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix to combine.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and beef broth until smooth.
  6. Add the cooked beef mixture to the sauce and stir well to combine.
  7. Add the cooked noodles into the skillet with the beef mixture and stir gently to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Transfer the beef and noodle mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  10. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  11. Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  12. After 25-30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley for added color and flavor.

Notes

For added flavor, incorporate vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms, or use different types of cheese.
