Description

Delicious Ukrainian garlic bread rolls, perfect as a side dish or standalone snack.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup garlic oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour and knead until a soft dough forms.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into rolls.
  7. Place rolls on a baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Brush immediately with garlic oil before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, ideally with borscht or a fresh salad. Perfect for gatherings.
