Description

Fudgy, crackled cookies with intense chocolate flavor and a powdered-sugar finish, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dairy-free butter (or a blend of light vegetable oil + vegan butter)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (or egg substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free flour blend
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup dairy-free dark chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Cream dairy-free butter with granulated sugar until light, about 2–3 minutes.
  2. Add eggs or egg substitute and vanilla.
  3. Fold in sifted cocoa powder, gluten-free flour blend, baking powder, and salt; finish with dairy-free dark chocolate chips if desired.
  4. Chill the dough for 30–60 minutes.
  5. Scoop 1-tablespoon balls of dough.
  6. Roll in powdered sugar.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers look slightly underbaked.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough before baking to prevent spreading.
