- 1/2 cup hot water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the molasses, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and hot water until smooth.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just blended; be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for ten minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
