  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the molasses, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and hot water until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just blended; be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the pan for ten minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
