Description

A lightly thickened, protein-rich beverage that helps curb hunger between meals with low calories.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon (about 9 g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) cold water (for blooming)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) hot water at about 160–180°F (70–82°C) to dissolve gelatin
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) cold water, chilled tea, or zero-calorie flavored drink
  • 12 tsp lemon juice or sweetener (optional)
  • Ice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over 1/4 cup cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. Heat 1/4 cup of water to 160–180°F (70–82°C). Pour over the bloomed gelatin and stir until fully dissolved (30–60 seconds).
  3. Whisk in the chilled water or tea, plus lemon juice or sweetener if using. For an ultra-smooth finish, blend for 5–10 seconds with an immersion blender.
  4. Serve immediately over ice or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to slightly thicken. Drink within 24–48 hours for best texture.

Notes

Use filtered water and high-quality unflavored gelatin for the best taste. An immersion blender helps achieve a smooth texture.
