Description

These fudgy brownies use browned butter and high-quality dark chocolate for a complex, deeply chocolatey finish with a glossy, crackly top.


Ingredients

  • 10 tablespoons (140 g) unsalted butter
  • 4 oz (115 g) chopped dark chocolate (70%)
  • 1 1/4 cups (250 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of flaky salt

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a light-colored skillet over medium heat for about 6–8 minutes until it has a nutty aroma and small brown specks.
  2. Remove from heat and immediately add the chopped dark chocolate; stir until smooth.
  3. Whisk in the granulated sugar and the eggs one at a time.
  4. Fold in the flour and a pinch of salt.
  5. Pour the batter into a parchment-lined 8×8-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 20–28 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly underdone.
