- 8 mozzarella sticks
- 1 cup crushed Doritos (choose preferred flavor)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup fine breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil, for deep frying
Instructions
- Arrange the crushed Doritos, all-purpose flour, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes.
- Beat the eggs in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Coat each mozzarella stick first in flour, shaking off the excess.
- Dip the floured mozzarella stick into the beaten eggs, then cover it thoroughly with crushed Doritos. Repeat the dipping in egg followed by a second layer of Doritos for added crunch.
- Transfer the breaded mozzarella sticks to a plate and freeze for a minimum of 30 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 190°C (375°F).
- Fry the mozzarella sticks in small batches for 1–2 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove using a slotted spoon and place on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
Double coating the mozzarella sticks helps achieve a crunchier texture. You can try different flavors of Doritos and types of cheese for variations.
