Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a heavy pan over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until caramelized (about 20-25 minutes).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then sear them in the same pan until golden brown on both sides.
- Combine the caramelized onions and seared chicken in the pan, topping with shredded cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
For added flavor, consider deglazing the pan with white wine or balsamic vinegar after caramelizing the onions.
