Description

Deliciously fluffy donuts topped with a rich maple glaze, perfect for weekend treats.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt; whisk until combined.
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area until doubled, about 1 hour.
  6. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut into donut shapes.
  7. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Fry donuts until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  9. In a separate bowl, mix powdered sugar and maple syrup to create glaze.
  10. Dip warm donuts in glaze and let excess drip off before cooling on a rack.

Notes

Store donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze unglazed donuts.
