Transform the classic holiday egg nog into a luxurious layered trifle with creamy egg nog, fluffy whipped cream, and rich sponge cake.

- 8 ounces sponge cake, cubed
- 2 cups egg nog
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- Nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish
Instructions
- In a trifle dish, layer half of the cake cubes at the bottom.
- Pour half of the egg nog over the cake cubes.
- Spread half of the whipped cream on top of the egg nog layer.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, egg nog, and whipped cream.
- Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 2-4 hours before serving.
- Garnish with nutmeg or cinnamon before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute the sponge cake with gluten-free cake. Adjust the sweetness of the whipped cream to your liking.
