Description

Transform the classic holiday egg nog into a luxurious layered trifle with creamy egg nog, fluffy whipped cream, and rich sponge cake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces sponge cake, cubed
  • 2 cups egg nog
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • Nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a trifle dish, layer half of the cake cubes at the bottom.
  2. Pour half of the egg nog over the cake cubes.
  3. Spread half of the whipped cream on top of the egg nog layer.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, egg nog, and whipped cream.
  5. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 2-4 hours before serving.
  6. Garnish with nutmeg or cinnamon before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute the sponge cake with gluten-free cake. Adjust the sweetness of the whipped cream to your liking.
