Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices of classic sandwich bread
- 3 heaping tablespoons of unsalted butter, split up
- 1 creamy slice of cheddar cheese
- 2 hearty slices of ham from the deli
- 3 eggs, already whisked
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon flaky kosher salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, kosher salt, and white pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Spread the remaining tablespoon of butter on one side of both bread slices.
- Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and let spread out; place both bread slices, buttery sides up, onto the eggs.
- Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until the eggs are set.
- Gently turn the sandwich over so the bread is down and the eggs are underneath, cooking until fully set.
- Add the cheddar slice on one piece of bread, stack with ham, and any extra egg if desired.
- Flip the other bread slice over the ham and cheese, then turn the sandwich to cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is golden.
