- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Vegetables of choice (bell peppers, onions, zucchini)
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar to create the marinade.
- Add cubed chicken to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. Let marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread marinated chicken and vegetables onto soaked skewers.
- Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill to medium heat.
- Grill skewers for about 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions, alongside steamed rice or salad.
Notes
For a spicy kick, add sriracha or chili paste to the marinade. Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
