Instructions
- Chop the onions and mince the garlic.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat, then add the onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and dried oregano, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes with their juices and mix well.
- Season with salt, pepper, and sugar, then let it simmer on low heat for 30 minutes.
- Just before serving, stir in the fresh basil.
