Ingredients

  • 4 large Fresh Eggs
  • 4 cups Cold Water
  • 1 pinch Salt (Optional)
  • 2 cups Ice

Instructions

  1. Place fresh eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a pot.
  2. Add cold water to cover the eggs by at least one inch.
  3. Bring the water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove pot from heat, cover, and set a timer for desired doneness.
  5. Soft boiled: cook for 4-6 minutes; hard boiled: cook for 9-12 minutes.
  6. Prepare an ice bath with ice and cold water.
  7. Transfer eggs to the ice bath and let sit for at least 5 minutes.
  8. Gently tap and peel the eggs from the wider end.
  9. Rinse under cold water, pat dry, and serve.

Notes

For easier peeling, use eggs that are a few days old. Prepare an ice bath for better texture.
