Description

Learn how to make perfect hard boiled and soft boiled eggs easily at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large Fresh Eggs
  • 4 cups Cold Water
  • 1 pinch Salt (optional)
  • 2 cups Ice

Instructions

  1. Select fresh eggs and place them in a single layer at the bottom of a pot.
  2. Add cold water to cover the eggs by at least one inch.
  3. Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring to a rolling boil.
  4. Once boiling, remove from heat, cover, and set a timer for desired doneness.
  5. Prepare an ice bath with ice and cold water in a bowl.
  6. Transfer the eggs to the ice bath using a slotted spoon and let sit for at least 5 minutes.
  7. Gently tap the eggs on a hard surface to crack the shell and peel from the wider end.
  8. Rinse peeled eggs under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.

Notes

Use older eggs for easier peeling. Adjust cooking time to preference: 6-7 minutes for soft boiled, 10-12 minutes for hard boiled. Always use an ice bath for best results.
