Description

Delicious baked donuts with the sweet, spicy flavor of churros, perfect for any time of day.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (or vegetable oil)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar, egg, milk, and melted butter until fully combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. While the donuts are baking, mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. After the donuts cool for a few minutes, roll each one in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well-coated.
