Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) canned green beans, French-style or cut
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken for variation)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a casserole dish, combine the canned green beans, cream of mushroom soup, whole milk, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Fold in about half of the crispy fried onions into the mixture.
  4. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until bubbling.
  5. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining fried onions on top.
  6. Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the onions are golden and crispy.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can make this dish ahead of time and keep it refrigerated before baking. Just add the fried onions right before baking to maintain their crunch.
