- 1 package Pie Dough (Store-bought or homemade, thaw if frozen)
- 1 cup Canned Pumpkin (Use pure pumpkin, not pie filling)
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (You can adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp Spices (Cinnamon or Nutmeg, adjust to flavor preference)
- 1 Egg (Beaten for brushing on top)
- 1–2 tbsp Raw Sugar (optional, for added sparkle on top)
Instructions
- Roll out the pie dough and cut out pumpkin shapes using a cookie cutter or a knife.
- Cut faces out of half of the pumpkin shapes.
- Spoon a small amount of pumpkin filling onto the plain pumpkin shapes.
- Top with the face-cut pieces and crimp the edges with a fork.
- Brush with egg wash for gloss.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.
Notes
Don’t overload the filling to prevent explosions. Seal well to avoid leakage during baking. These pies taste best fresh from the oven.
