Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Shredded mozzarella or Parmesan for serving
  • Optional: Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until caramelized. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet; sauté until fragrant and onions are translucent.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add the cooked macaroni to the skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5-10 minutes until everything is heated through and flavors meld.
  7. If desired, stir in shredded cheese just before serving.
  8. Serve in deep bowls, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For a healthier dish, use lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey. You can also add vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini for extra nutrition.
