Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package wonton wrappers (about 30-40)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (plus extra for dusting)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam or fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Fold in the strawberry jam or chopped strawberries.
- Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake mixture in the center. Wet the edges with a little water, then fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully drop the stuffed wonton bites into the hot oil, a few at a time. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Dust with powdered sugar and, if desired, sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs before serving.
Notes
For variation, try different fillings like chocolate ganache or blueberry jam. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
