These Decadent Fig and Cream Cheese Bars are a celebration of autumn’s bounty with a delicious combination of figs and cream cheese, perfect for any fall gathering.

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups fresh figs, diced
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (for compote)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together flour, ½ cup sugar, and butter until crumbly.
- Press the mixture into a baking dish to form the crust.
- In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, ½ cup sugar, and eggs until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crust.
- In a saucepan, cook diced figs with ¼ cup sugar until soft, then spread the fig compote over the cream cheese.
- Bake for about 30 minutes until set.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
Notes
For best results, chill in the fridge for several hours before slicing. Garnish with chopped walnuts or honey if desired.
