Description

Soft, pillowy sugar cookies topped with a pastel pink glaze, perfect for celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • Powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • Milk (for glaze)
  • Pink gel food coloring (for glaze)
  • Sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, then mix into wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Chill dough for at least 2 hours.
  5. Portion dough into 1/4-cup balls, roll in sanding sugar if desired.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
  7. Prepare the glaze: mix powdered sugar, milk, and food coloring.
  8. Top cooled cookies with glaze.

Notes

Chill the dough for improved texture and flavor. Store cookies in an airtight container for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
