Description

A delightful twist on classic French onion soup, packed into tender meatballs with flavorful caramelized onions and savory beef.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, and seasonings in a bowl to form meatballs.
  2. Sauté onions in olive oil until golden and fragrant.
  3. Place meatballs and sautéed onions in the crockpot.
  4. Pour beef broth over meatballs and cover.
  5. Cook on low for 4-6 hours, until meatballs are fully cooked.
  6. Serve over mashed potatoes or in a sandwich with melted cheese.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, add a cornstarch slurry 30 minutes before serving. Ensure meatballs reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
