Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 1 cup grated cheese (Parmesan or Gruyère)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and brown meatballs for 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic; sauté until softened.
  5. Add beef stock, cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce; bring to a simmer.
  6. Meanwhile, cook pasta for 2 minutes shy of al dente, then drain.
  7. Combine the meatballs and pasta in the skillet with the sauce, tossing gently to coat.
  8. Transfer to a buttered 9×13-inch baking dish, top with grated cheese, and bake for 15-20 minutes until bubbly.
  9. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

For a leaner option, swap pork and beef for ground turkey. Adjust cooking times as necessary.
