A quick and hearty wonton soup that warms you up on a chilly day, made with frozen wontons and simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Chicken Broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic (fresh preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon Grated Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil (or olive oil)
  • 12 pieces Frozen Wontons
  • 2 scallions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pot and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, add the frozen wontons and cook according to the package instructions (usually around 5-7 minutes) until they float to the top.
  5. Stir in the soy sauce and let it simmer for another minute.
  6. Remove the pot from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For added flavor, top with chili flakes or fresh herbs. Serve with a side of rice for a complete meal.
