Description

A warmly spiced pumpkin custard that’s rich and creamy, perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, cream, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a baking dish or individual ramekins.
  4. Place the baking dish or ramekins in a larger dish filled halfway with hot water.
  5. Bake for 50 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use fresh roasted pumpkin instead of canned. Serve with whipped cream and extra spices for garnish.
