- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Extra melted butter for brushing
Instructions
- Warm your milk and mix it with yeast and sugar. Let it sit until foamy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough until smooth, about 7 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out, then cut into rectangles or squares.
- Let the rolls rise again for 30-45 minutes on a baking tray.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 15 minutes or until golden.
- Brush with extra melted butter before serving.
Notes
These rolls can be frozen after baking and easily reheated. For a sweeter flavor, add honey to the butter topping.
